Civility
I think. Some of my favorite thoughts are about THINKING. P.M. Forni wrote a book about thinking. "The Thinking Life". I LOVE what he wrote about thinking. He wrote another book about civility. "Choosing Civility". 25 Rules. Here is one. Forni's ideas are not Ann Landers. His ideas are bigger and better. Like Benevolent awareness of others and a willingness to modify one's behavior for the sake of Another. What does Forni think Civility is? NICE really does matter. manners not so much. I met a super cool Steve in 2012. He is inspired. HE is working on a project. A Civility project. Cheers! What I THINK is really GOOD. Civility can start with ME. I REaLlY like this Video.

Music
Music lifts me to a place words can not. When I owned a book store I learned the power of good music. When my life took an unexpected turn music became my drug of choice. Walking too. Now running. A few years ago KLOVE radio rocked my world. I am still listening to KLOVE. Everything feels better when positive and encouraging is playing in my car. I have lots of favorite songs & artists. Here are Four. January 6, 2013
Harmony
Gandhi knew something that the social sciences keep looking to find. Carl Rogers knew to BE happy we must be in a state of congruence. Congruence is derived from a Latin word meaning HARMONY. I think I first learned this concept from my Mom. "Say what you mean and mean what you say". I question if I really understood then but I dO now. It is a really good idea to live your life in alignment to YOUR Values and Beliefs. It takes courage to be honest. It can be hard to see the truth. To Be.
Authenticiy is another word. same idea. Are you TRUE to your own Spirit? Shakespeare gets credit for a super cool line. "To thine own self be true". Shakespeare lived a long time ago. I guess Decieiving yourself happened in the 1600's. Socrates is known for teaching "Know Thyself". HE lived 400 BC. Everyone knows to teach kids to be honest. Right? The Apostle Paul spoke a bunch about hypocrisy. CHRIST explains that the truth can set us free. I believe.

Love Quote
I LOVE this quote. I love many quotes by William James. I am grateful to people who have lived to make a difference. Mister Rogers believed William James. Years ago I came across this cool video. Mister Rogers believed making a difference mattered. James Allen wrote a BOOK that made a difference to ME! "As a Man Thinketh" I LOVE the way James Allen thinks. This Christmas I was able to witness President Jimmy Carter teach a Spirit filled Sunday school lesson at his local Church in Plains, GA. Jimmy Carter continues to LIVE as if what he does makes a difference. I like LIFE better when I believe I can make a difference. A 14-year old boy, McKay Hatch, thought what he did made a difference and IT DID! I am really grateful for another 14-year old boy that knew this quote was True. Joseph Smith BELIEVED. In 2013 I want to make difference therefore "I will act as if what I do makes a difference". (James, 1890) LOOK for links

Great Mind
I have heroes. One of my heroes is C. Terry Warner.
HE has spent his life discussing ideas. In 2000 I attended an education week at BYU in Provo, Utah. The first day I stumbled into a class taught by Dr. Warner. Time stopped. I felt as if the room had been elevated. I eagerly attended his class each day. Partaking. He spoke of a book soon to be published. "Bonds That Make Us Free". He spoke of self-deception. He spoke of a heart at peace. He talked of the lies we tell. He invited us to ponder. He welcomed the TRUTH. He pointed to our HUMANITY.
