During a lesson on hope the teacher shared this book that touched me.
The Flower Man moves to a new town. It is colorless. It is dark. It feels lifeless.
The Flower Man settles in and starts planting his flowers.
He gives a little girl a flower. Goodness begins to spread.
One by one his neighbors notice. They start to feel and see different. Their colors start to blossom.
Hope was our topic and this story was such a fun way to symbolize how when we have hope we have a light. The illustrations encouraged me to rub shoulders with people who are hopeful and reach out to those seeking hope. We really can and do make a difference.
